SAN LUIS OBISPO – Four-star recruit MacKenzie Worsnop has signed her National Letter of Intent to play tennis at Cal Poly beginning with the 2017-2018 season, head coach Kathrin Winterhalter announced on Monday.

"We are very excited to have MacKenzie join our Mustang family," said Winterhalter. "MacKenzie has got an aggressive game and great work ethic. With her enthusiasm and passion for tennis, she will have an immediate impact on our program."

Worsnop is a Newport Beach Calif., native but comes to Cal Poly having spent recent years in Keller, Texas, where she played at the Dent Tennis Academy under Phil Dent.

In 2016, Worsnop boasted a 22-17 UTSA Tournament record.

While working with Taylor and Phil Dent, Worsnop worked her way up to No. 84 in the nation and No. 9 in the state of Texas.
